• Timezone Spreads the Fun to the Children of World Vision
Author: Nedz Manangan Date: 1/21/2008 It was an exciting and fun-filled afternoon for the children beneficiaries of World Vision Philippines as Timezone invited them to a day of special movie, dining treats and fun-filled games last January 21, 2008 at Glorietta 4, Ayala Center. The 35 community-based kids, who participated in Timezone Philippines’ first undertaking for this year, were from World Vision Development Foundation. They were joined and accompanied by staff from the foundation as they excitingly played the newest and most popular games inside Timezone. The kids were all introduced to the games and had a tour of the whole facilities of the country’s favorite family entertainment center. Giggles and genuine smiles are reflected on their faces as they play Timezone’s different games such as basketball, air hockey, driving machines, kiddie rides and other games in an hour of non-stop fun.
To add more excitement, the kids also enjoyed a free screening of the movie “Alvin & the Chipmunks” sponsored by Ayala Cinemas. The theater was filled with laughter from these kids as they watched the funny scenes of the main characters – Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Completing the afternoon fun was a delicious dine-in meal generously provided by Teriyaki Boy.
The kids who joined this activity were among the recipients of World Vision Philippines’ project areas that execute developments especially focused on the needs of children. Its core mission is to help children become healthy, educated, protected, nurtured and listened to as they grow in a caring family and child-friendly community. Timezone recognizes the opportunity to respond to the needs of these vulnerable kids by sharing with them a day of fun and entertainment. This has always been Timezone’s small but meaningful way of participating and contributing to its social responsibility, especially for programs like these that are geared in the best interest and cause of the Filipino children. Undoubtedly, this activity provides both Timezone and the kids a great, fulfilling and unique experience.

• It’s Time for Fun for the Children from Home of Joy at Timezone
Author: Nedz Manangan Date: 8/3/2007 It was a fun and entertaining afternoon for the children of Christian Growth Ministries – Home of Joy as Timezone treated them to a day of non-stop fun and games inside the country’s premier family entertainment center last August 3, 2007. Thirty kids played different fun games at Timezone Glorietta 4, Ayala Center. The kids, who participated in Timezone Philippines’ second undertaking for this year aged 4 to 16, were accompanied by the staff from the foundation. Smiles were reflected on their faces as they tried their hands on shooting, driving machines and other kiddie rides.
To add more excitement, the kids also enjoyed a free screening of the Disney animated-movie “Ratatouille” sponsored by Ayala Cinemas. The movie made them laugh until the end as they watched the funny scenes of the main character Remy. Completing the afternoon fun was a light meal provided by Jollibee.
The kids who joined were one of the recipients of the Residential Care, Foster Care and Child Sponsorship Programs of Home of Joy which provides temporary care for children. Through these kinds of programs, Timezone continues to reach out to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility. For Timezone, sharing a great day of fun is truly one of the best things to give.

• Heat is On at the 4th Celebrity Open of Timezone
Author: Timezone Date: 4/26/2007 Stars came out to play at Timezone’s 4th Celebrity Open held at the Glorietta Activity Center last April 26. This year’s Celebrity Open was bigger and grander with some 48 celebrities working the Timezone machines. Geared up for an afternoon of fun and competition, famous faces from the boob tube battled it out for the win.
The mechanics were simple and intense. The stars were grouped into 8 teams with members where each member faced the other team members in 6 popular Timezone games. The member who got the highest game score in a particular game competition wins as the Best Player of that particular game. The team who has the most number of declared Best Players will be heralded as the Grand Champion.
Starting with a bang, the celebrity teams paraded and yelled their celebratory cheers. The star-stricken crowd watched with anticipation as their faves swayed their hands and danced, shooted and raced on the popular Timezone games of Air Hockey, Superbike, Super Trivia, Daytona, DDR Supernova and everyone’s favorite, Slam n’ Jam. Fred Payawan was hailed as the most skillful in Air Hockey. Susie Abrera emerged victorious in Super Trivia. Racing proud for Superbike was Anthony Suntay and Mike Tuazon for the famous game Daytona. Besting the rest in basketball was Rob Johnson and dancing her way to the top was Ryza Cenon.
Walking away as the 2nd Runner Up was the energetic Mighty Blue team composed of Pinoy Big Brother Teens Matt Evans, Joaqui Mendoza, Alfred Payawan, Mikee Lee, Brenda Fox and Olyn Meimban. The vibrant Bursting Red team composed of famous driving champions and racing enthusiast Gabby dela Merced, JP Tuason, Mike Toledo, Phoemela Barranda, Louie Ysmael and Pia Boren bagged the 1st Runner Up. Championing the Timezone’s 4th Celebrity Open was the White Team composed of well known celebrities Anthony Suntay, Vince Hizon, Shaan Hizon, Jinno Rufino, Rob Johnson and Mylene Dizon. The members of the Champion team will each receive a round-trip ticket to Boracay with hotel accomodation, P12,000 worth of Timezone powercards, P1,000 worth of Metro Gaisano GCs, My Cinema GCs, Sketchers watch, 1 month pass at Fitnes First, and Timezone, Oreo and Goldilocks gift packs, and a trophy

• 2007 Timezone International Operations Conference
Author: Lelet Volfango Date: 3/3/2007 Timezone Philippines (Leisure and Allied Industries Inc.), led by its President Raffy Prats Jr., welcomed international delegates from Singapore, Indonesia, India, New Zealand and Australia to Manila when it hosted this year’s Timezone International Operations Conference last February 28 to March 3, 2007 at the Renaissance Makati City Hotel. Showcasing best operational practices across different countries, 65 delegates—including Timezone Chairman Malcolm Steinberg, Chief Operating Officer Bruce Davis—met up with each other in a rare opportunity to form both business synergies and friendships among Timezone countries.
The conference was formally opened by Mr. Steinberg at a Welcome Dinner at Casa Armas in Greenbelt 3 on the evening of February 28. Aside from the usual presentations at the hotel ball room of the Renaissance Hotel, the delegates were also taken to various Manila store visits in order to highlight the fact that the Philippine operations is now the second largest in the Timezone Group with over 47 outlets nationwide. Timezone Philippines is a 50-50 joint venture between Ayala Land, Inc. and Timezone Australia.
The conference ended on a happy note, with the organizing team giving all the delegates a glimpse of Filipino culture during the Farewell Dinner at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel where they watched and joined local Filipino dances and sampled local delicacies with the backdrop of the famous Manila Bay sunset behind them.
It was truly a marvelous experience for all!

• Timezone Hosted Bb. Pilipinas Charity Day
Author: Nedz Manangan Date: 2/19/2007 It was a fun-filled afternoon for the underprivileged children as they enjoyed an hour of games and prizes, under the care of the 31 official Bb. Pilipinas 2007 candidates, at the Timezone Gateway Mall last February 19, 2006. A hundred kids from the Sisters of Charity and DSWD took pleasure in this different kind of experience as they actively tried their hands on Timezone’s different games.
